Capturing and Deploying Experience Through Simulations with Ken Spero September 25, 2012Posted by karlgrieb in Misc.
If you missed this past Thursday’s ASTD E-learning SIG presentation by Ken Spero, you missed a fun and interactive lesson on simulations and experiential learning. Ken provided a foundational background on the importance of experiential learning and how the stickiness of learning is tied to this. Ken also delved into the importance of storytelling in simulation creation and that simulations (and training) do not have to have all of those bells and whistles in order to be effective.
Ken allowed the class to go through an example of a leadership development simulation, providing the attendees with a great example of simple but effective simulation.
Ken Spero is the Executive Director of the new ImmersiveLearningUniversity at NexLearn. In this role, he is able to continue his efforts to make Immersive Learning Simulations more available to the masses. Prior to joining NexLearn, Ken was a Founder and the Chief Marketing Officer of Humentum. Ken recently merged his Humentum operations with NexLearn in an effort to combine his work with the NexLearn’s award winning capabilities and authoring tools, like SimWriter.
